Offline-first, by design
LovedOne knows where it is. Your family keeps what’s in it. We will never ask for your passwords or full account numbers.
- Coordination lives in LovedOne (cloud): people, care team, care events, and document locators — what document, where it is kept, who holds it, and when it was last verified. Last 4 digits only, never full numbers.
- Contents stay offline: passwords, full account numbers, Social Security numbers, and safe combinations stay in your password manager and in a printed binder — never typed into LovedOne, and never uploaded.
- The printed file is the master in a crisis: it works with no login, no internet, and no subscription.
Do not type passwords, full account numbers, or Social Security numbers into LovedOne. Use LovedOne to record where they are kept, not what they are.
What the file covers
A checklist, section by section, so a family can finish it in sprints instead of starting from a blank page:
- A 1-page ER snapshot: conditions, allergies, medications, doctors, pharmacy, insurance, and emergency contacts — printable and dated.
- People and contacts, doctors and pharmacy, medications and conditions.
- Insurance and IDs (last 4 only), accounts locator, and documents locator.
- Home, vehicles, bills, digital life (which password manager, who has emergency access, where the sealed recovery envelope is), legal and estate contacts, final wishes, pets, and a review log.
Review twice a year, and whenever a medication, doctor, policy, address, or family situation changes.
Who it is for
The sandwich-generation sibling already coordinating a parent’s care — who realizes her own kids would be just as lost without a file for her. Build one for Mom, then build one for yourself. That second file is the point.

What this is not
- Not a cloud family vault. All-in-one cloud vaults ask for everything in one place in the cloud; this file is deliberately offline-first.
- Not legal, medical, or financial advice. Wills, powers of attorney, and advance directives are located here, not created here.
- Not a paid tier. LovedOne’s family product today is the free shared Family Inbox; there is no paid family tier yet.
